Since 2018, he has been director of the Ant\u00f3nio Lobo Antunes Chair (Cam\u00f5es Institute of Lisbon &#8211; Unimi). Among his monographs: <em>Tenebre Bianche. Immaginari coloniali fin- de-si\u00e8cle <\/em>(2008);<em> Suspeita do Avesso. Barroco e Neo-Barroco na Poesia Portuguesa Contempor\u00e2nea<\/em> (2008); <em>La Letteratura Portoghese. I testi e le idee <\/em>with Roberto Vecchi (2017), <em>La Resistenza continua. Il colonialismo portoghese, le lotte di liberazione e gli intellettuali italiani <\/em>(2020). The latter two volumes were also published in Portuguese in 2022. He translated and edited the Italian editions of several Portuguese, Brazilian and African authors writing in Portuguese (Fernando Pessoa, Eduardo Louren\u00e7o, Ant\u00f3nio Ramos Rosa, E\u00e7a de Queir\u00f3s, Lima Barreto, Verg\u00edlio Ferreira, Bocage, Pepetela, Jo\u00e3o Paulo Borges Coelho, Boaventura de Sousa Santos). In 2023, he organised with Elisa Alberani and Miguel Cardina the volume and exhibition <em>Revolu\u00e7\u00f5es.
