Valerio Bini is Associate Professor of Geography at the Department of Cultural and Environmental Heritage at the University of Milan, where he teaches Environmental Policy. His main areas of research concern development cooperation (La cooperazione allo sviluppo in Africa, Mimesis, 2016), political ecology (Forest and communities. Deforestation, Conservation and Socio-ecological Relations in the Mau Forest, Kenya, Edizioni Ambiente, 2023, with S. Albertazzi and G. Trivellini, (Kenya) and agri-food policies in Africa (“Food Security and Food Sovereignty in West Africa,” African Geographical Review, 2018). He has conducted field research in West Africa (Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea Bissau, Senegal) and Kenya.
