Luca Ciabarri is Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology at the University of Milan. He has conducted research in the Horn of Africa (Somalia and Ethiopia), the Middle East (Dubai) and in Italy dealing, among other things, with international migration, forced migration, asylum seekers and refugees, humanitarian aid. He is co-founder and coordinator of “Escapes. Critical Studies on Forced Migrations” (http://users2.unimi.it/escapes/) and since 2022 coordinates the international research project “Traces of Mobility, Violence and Solidarity. Reconceptualizing Cultural Heritage through the Lens of Migration”.
