Giuliana Iannaccaro teaches English Literature and Literature of English-speaking countries at the University of Milan. Her research focuses on two main areas: 16th- and 17th-century English literature and South African literature in English. In the field of early modern English studies, she has mainly analysed the political and religious controversies of the period and gender rhetoric. In the field of Anglophone literatures, she investigates the relationship between literature and history in 20th-century and contemporary South Africa. A more recent field of study concerns fiction written in English by authors from the African continent and selected for publication by Italian publishers between the 1950s and 1970s.
