Cristina Dozio is Assistant Professor of Arabic language and literature at the University of Milan, Italy. Her research interests include contemporary Arabic literature, translation studies, urban space in fiction, and humour. She is the author of Laugh like an Egyptian (DeGruyter Mouton 2021) that examines humour in contemporary Egyptian fiction. She is a literary translator from Arabic into Italian and a member of the European project LEILA. She has translated novels by Dima Wannous, Youssef Fadel, Alaa al-Aswani, and Emna Rmili.
